Juventus linked with Nicolas Jackson — reports

Chelsea were recently linked with Juventus (on loan from PSG) striker Randal Kolo Muani, and now in turn Juventus have been linked with Chelsea (on thin ice) striker Nicolas Jackson.

Jackson’s back in the rumor mill thanks to his second red card in his last four appearances, which give him the unique distinction of being suspended in two entirely separate competitions at the same time, the Premier League and the Club World Cup (he has one more game to go in each). That bit of silliness alone shouldn’t determine anyone’s future, but combined with the general concerns over his discipline, finishing, and consistency — not to mention the arrival of Liam Delap — it certainly hasn’t decreased the questions surrounding it.

Enzo Maresca was pretty clear about that point when asked after the defeat against Flamengo, too.

“No, the red card has nothing to do with Nico’s future [and he] knows very well that in both situations (it) was not something good for the team.”

Still, rumors abound and Juventus are the first team to be specifically named as having interest. Gazzetta dello Sport (via ESPN) even go as far as to say that they are in active talks with Chelsea over a potential deal, though they have many irons in many fires. Sky Sports meanwhile point out the itty-bitty little problem of Chelsea not actually looking to sell and Juve not being able to afford the fees and wages that it would require to change our minds. anyway. GdS claim €60m is what it would take.

That’s not happening.
