Glastonbury fans ‘let down’ as Kaiser Chiefs set not shown live
Viewers of Glastonbury who were eager to catch the festival's major acts on the main stage on Saturday have voiced their dissatisfaction upon discovering the opening act was not aired.
Those wishing to enjoy Glastonbury 2025 could do so via BBC iPlayer, which streams a significant number of the event's headline performances live.
Nonetheless, there was a wave of disappointment when it became apparent that the act opening the Pyramid Stage on Saturday wasn't being streamed.
Leeds-based Kaiser Chiefs had the honour of kicking off the Pyramid Stage proceedings on Saturday (June 28).
Audience members took to social media platforms to challenge why the band was missing from the live broadcast, expressing feelings of being "let down", reports the Manchester Evening News.
Music lovers expressed their frustrations over not being able to follow the event through the BBC iPlayer service.
Visiting X – what used to be known as Twitter – one Glastonbury-goer, @JoshFairhurst11, inquired: "Why aren't BBC iPlayer showing Kaiser Chiefs set."
Another, @ninety_88, questioned: "How can you put Kaiser Chiefs on to open on a Saturday and not televise it?".
Commenting on the situation, @melcastle1875 posted: "BBC iPlayer stating they are live, when in actual fact it's 2 presenters talking and showing the acts from last night, when we have all tuned in to watch Kaiser Chiefs who are actually live on stage now! What a let down."
While the BBC iPlayer claims to provide live Glastonbury content, viewers found themselves watching reruns from the previous festival day instead.
