ENG vs IND: Joe Root goes level with Rahul Dravid for most Test catches as fielder

England’s Joe Root equalled the record for most catches by a non-wicketkeeper in Test cricket, during the fourth day of opening Test against India in Leeds on Monday.

Root snared Shardul Thakur at first slip off Josh Tongue to go level with with Indian legend Rahul Dravid at 210 catches in the longest format.

The English player reached the figure in his 154th Test, while Dravid touched the mark in 164 matches.

Sri Lanka’s Mahela Jayawardene is third in the list with 205 catches, while Australia’s Steve Smith and South Africa’s Jacques Kallis are tied for fourth with 200 scalps.
