Anannya Rao, alumna of NIT-K joins Indian Navy as Sub-Lieutenant
Anannya Rao, a 2024 batch Mechanical Engineering graduate from the National Institute of Technology – Karnataka (NIT-K), Surathkal, and a former NCC cadet, has been commissioned into the Indian Navy as Sub-Lieutenant.
Following a 10-month intensive military training program at the Indian Naval Academy, Ezhimala, Anannya, from Mangaluru was formally inducted into the Navy during the Passing Out Parade held on May 31, a release from NIT-K said on Thursday, June 12.
Anannya’s experience as a NCC cadet at NIT-K and her foundation in engineering fuelled her aspiration to serve the country. Her success in military examinations and training stands as a proud achievement in her journey, the NIT-K said.
Speaking on her commissioning, she said: “Dream it, plan it, work for it and achieve it.”
The NITK family congratulated Ms. Anannya for her accomplishment, the release said.
