RCB victory parade stampede LIVE: Several feared dead outside Bengaluru’s Chinnaswamy stadium during RCB celebrations

A day after a stampede claimed the lives of 11 and left 56 injured at M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru during revelry to celebrate Royal Challengers Bengaluru’s (RCB) victory in IPL-2025, Chief Minister Siddaramaiah announced that Bengaluru Police Commissioner B. Dayananda and all officials responsible for the jurisdiction where the stadium is have been suspended, pending inquiry.
CM Siddaramaiah also announced a judicial inquiry by a one-man commission led by former Karnataka High Court judge Michael D’Cunha.

After the stampede incident, the Cubbon Park Police have registered an FIR against RCB franchise, DNA Entertainment Private Limited, an event management company, and Karnataka State Cricket Association (KSCA) on Thursday (June 5, 2025) charging them for “culpable homicide and other serious charges”.
Karnataka High Court on Thursday (June 5, 2025) directed the State Government to file a status report on the stampede outside the cricket stadium here that led to 11 deaths and injuries to over 50 people. The Court, after taking suo motu cognisance of the matter, issued notice to the state, and tasked it to file a detailed status report by June 10.

Most of the injured persons were discharged from hospitals. Except for six persons, who continue to be under treatment in various hospitals, all the others were sent home, doctors said on Thursday (June 5, 2025).
