‘Ramayana’ introduction: Ranbir Kapoor, Yash, Hans Zimmer assemble for epic retelling
An introductory teaser of Nitesh Tiwari’s Ramayana starring Ranbir Kapoor, Sai Pallavi and Yash was launched at multiple venues across the globe on Thursday (July 3). A grand retelling of the titular Indian epic, the upcoming film is directed by Nitesh Tiwari and produced by Namit Malhotra’s Prime Focus Studios and Yash’s Mind Creations. It will release in two parts on Diwali 2026 and 2027 respectively.
The announcement video begins by introducing the cosmic trinity of Brahma, Vishnu, and Shiva, divine benefactors whose powers hold the universe in balance. It then sets the stage for the epic battle between Rama and Ravana, the timeless struggle of good over evil, described as the war to ‘end all wars’ and restore universal harmony.
